EGLO Group, world leader in luminaire production for decorative home and outdoor lighting and light bulbs with a focus on LED, engages EVENT SERVICE RS GmbH to plan and organise the company's 50th anniversary celebrations.
The agency starts by designing a key visual to be used in global communication throughout the year leading up to the big event. The claim "Proud History.Bright Future" is also theme-setting for the concept of the event proper. After months of planning and several weeks of production work, a temporary extension to the company's headquarters is put up in September 2019 in Pill, Austria - a veritable world of wonders on 2,800sqm showcasing the fascination of light in architecture, interior design and artistic performance.
The customised lighting concept is developed in close coordination with EGLO's product development and tradeshow construction teams. Offset glass cubes framed in aluminium provide clear heights of 4m in the lounge and bar areas and of 6m in the main hall, with ample space for the decorative integration, of ceiling, wall, floor and outdoor fixtures from EGLO, all produced and configured in-house specially for the event. Next to the reception area and the liberally dimensioned lounge bar in the entrance area, a journey through time sheds light on the origins and milestones of EGLO's success story over the last 50 years. Smart light walls printed with the key visual highlight the reception area and mark out the stage in the form of a three-part, offset 50sqm LED wall. An array of trendy vintage fixtures and more than 100 LED effect spotlights round off the lighting spectacle.
The company's founder, together with his family and the entire management, welcomes 720 national and international guests from 31 countries to the "Into the Light – Gala Night“ on day one of the festivities. In the presence of Tyrolean governor Günther Platter and mayor Hannes Fender, salutes are fired and the brass band kicks off the event with a traditional reception on the premises.
Charming facilitator Kristina Inhof takes the guests through the entertaining multimedia show programme, with numerous video animations, top-notch dance acts centering on light, inspiring talks with contemporaries, and the premiere of EGLO's new image video. After a display of fireworks in front of the patios, the legendary Austria 3 band "Wir 4" and the party band "Highlights" are two live acts to rock the audience on the illuminated stage.
The entire area is then completely reconverted overnight to provide a 600sqm lighting exhibition with a lounge-style brunch setting for Open House on the next day. The record number of visitors registered on Saturday proves that the hard work has been worth the effort: 1,750 visitors from the region make use of this opportunity to explore the lighting exhibition, the company premises and the showroom with its more than 4,000 different fixtures, normally closed to the public. Even the very young are kept busy with a magic show, a lighting workshop and an array of interactive stations. Facilitator Christian Brugger moderates the day's programme both on and off stage with live video reporting. On the main stage, spectacular shows by Dance Industry, an LED mapping performance, informative interviews with the management and the Tyrolean VolxxGang band provide lots of entertainment.
The extraordinary event format was nominated by an independent jury of experts in the category "Corporate Public Events" for the Austrian Event Award 2020.
